I am the type of person who will ask the employees at a restaurant what to eat or better yet, sometimes I have two dishes in mind and can’t decide between the two, will tell the waiter to surprise me, because they know the menu like they really know the menu! You see, I used to work in the service industry back in college, and the restaurants I was employed at required us to really know the menu and you know what gets requested a lot or what doesn’t.

One of the benefits of trying nearly an entire menu is probably one of the best things to do as a food blogger- that way you’re excited to get something new or add an additional entree to your meal because you can’t decide. It also helps that I know the owner. It’s one of those instances when you love to see your friends succeed and when my friend, Ash (Prakash Mammen) took the leap in opening his first La Crawfish, ya know I couldn’t help but smile.

I’ve known this cat since high school and he’s one of the hardest working people you’ll ever come across so I couldn’t wait to see him in action. After he opened the location he had me over to try a lot of the menu and now I can pass off some of my favorites because we all know that the crawfish and shrimps are classics but we’re all about spicing it up!

So here are 5 things you shouldn’t skip on the LA Crawfish Menu!

Chicken Wings:

Check me out! When you go to a place specifically for crawfish, why would you order wings? I’ll give you the only reason you need- they’re perfectly crispy! While at other wing shops you’ve got to be real specific on how your wings are made, at LA Crawfish- they’re perfect from the get-go! Go to flavors: Spicy Garlic and Sweet + Sour

The Crawfish Pho

If you’re a fan of pho then just come here strictly for the pho. Even though it’s one of the most popular items on the menu, it’s still one of the best things to get in general. I’m one of the people who were skeptical at first but now- it’s a must-order every time I go!

Beignets

This is a hill I will die on!? Order the beignets during the meal, don’t wait for them as desserts because the experience is magical. Maybe it’s the fat kid in all of us but the real reason is you’ll get a sweet and spicy experience throughout your entire meal.

The Awesome Garlic Noodle

TBH this should probably be at the top of the list because I hadn’t even noticed it was on the menu until I tried it! This is the ultimate comfort food and is made with so much buttery garlic that you’ll be one of the happiest people out there after eating a bowl of this. If you’re in the mood of adding a new thing- get this!

Crawfish

Ok, you know I had to do you right and still add the crawfish to the must gets but mixing the flavors is key. I usually get garlic butter AND Cajun seasoning with extra corn, potatoes, and sausage. Between this and the beignets, it’s the ultimate culinary experience!
